Here’s a quick one for all of my friends, family and colleagues in Manitoba. Word is some new devices are coming to Bison-land, and the lineup, in all honesty, sounds quite good… Especially when you consider MTS has never exactly been on the ‘cutting edge’ when it comes to new devices.
HowardForums member ‘codwif’ received an email from MTS recently, noting the Storm2 and Tour2 would be on their way:
“We currently plan to launch both the Blackberry Storm 2 & the Tour 2 in late spring early summer 2010. We are also currently in talks with several manufacturers in regards to the Android phones but unfortunately nothing is nailed down at this point, we are looking at a tentative launch date of an Android unit in Spring 2010.”
Groovy. If it’s Android love you’re seeking, we also hear the HTC Hero is on the horizon for MTS, along with the Sanyo 2700 and Motorola Quantico. Not too shabby. I’m glad to hear some rumblings from one of my local carriers. It’s about gosh darn time they started making some news. I’m sure we’ll hear more about this as the weather continues to warm, especially when you consider MTC is launching a new HSPA network with an anticipated completion date by the end of the year.
