AdMob updates SDKs for the iPhone and Android; Launches Flash Lite SDK and new tools for publishers and developers

We stay in the realm of mobile marketing but there are no acquisitions involved in this story. We’re talking about acquired-by-Google AdMob, which announced an enhanced offering for its developers and publishers.

First of all, they said their Android and iPhone SDKs have been updated. Android developers can now use AdMob’s rich media ad units including expandable canvas and multi-panel banners; while those making apps for the iPhone will notice performance enhancements and will also be able to take advantage of additional server flexibility.

In addition, the company unveiled Flash Lite SDK (beta), and a new adaptive mobile ad unit, which doesn’t change in size as consumers pinch and scroll through a not-optimized-for-mobile website.

Finally, there are new tools for publishers:

  • New publisher dashboard with customizable interface that allows viewing of all the key statistics for mobile websites and various applications from a single location.
  • Enhanced reporting UI that saves publishers time by giving them the ability to customize and save the reports they run on a regular basis.
  • Reporting API (beta) – enables both publishers and advertisers to build their own tools and dashboards.

As usual, you can get additional information from AdMob’s website. While there, if you’re either a developer or publisher, you can also sign-up for the service…
