Well here you have it… Via Palm’s Developer Center Blog we’ve learned that webOS toting users in Germany, Ireland, Spain and the UK now have paid apps in the App Catalog. Interestingly enough, a webOS 1.4.1 bugfix update has gone live in these countries as well. Coincidence? Me thinks not. Congratulations to the folks in these regions… Be sure to update to 1.4.1 and pick up some paid apps while you’re at it, would ya?
Palm is also pushing devs to update their distribution to these new regions:
When you log into the Palm Developer Center and check out your apps summary page, you’ll notice a few changes. Starting today, all apps — both ones already in distribution and new ones — can be updated for distribution in the regions listed above.
Unfortunately the news isn’t all rosy. For the fine folks in France, Mexico and Canada, paid apps are still unavailable. I think I can hear the frustration from here. Oh wait, nope, that’s just someone making noise outside. Maybe he’s upset about the lack of paid apps in the App Catalog… Nah, I doubt that, it’s more likely that he’s drunk and belligerent.
