Think you’ve got what it takes to convince Microsoft to give you a free T-Mobile HTC HD2 (hell, with the way these things are selling, this may be your only sure way of getting your hands on one)? By all means, give it a go! We’re talking, of course, about Microsoft’s latest promotion to push out what is without a doubt the most capable and eye-catching smartphone to run the Windows Mobile operating system. In a bid to market the HTC HD2’s huge display and multimedia savvy, Microsoft is inviting HD2 fans to hit up their Windows Phone Facebook page and comment or vote on how they’d use the extra screen real-estate.
Here’s a quick refresher on what makes the HD2 so good that it keeps selling out. It’s got that bright 4.3-inch display, a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, 3G data, WiFi, GPS, 5-megapixel camera with touch-focus and a microSD card slot for storing all kinds of media. Top that all off with a form-factor no thicker than a pencil, and you’ve got a winner!
The Facebook page includes a poll about what you’d most likely use the extra inch (or so) of diagonal display size. There’s a video that shows off the HD2’s screen and how it “fits more of everything” in its 4.3-inch touchscreen display. You’ll also get to see a live Twitter stream of what people are saying about the HD2 and there’s also a handy little comparison tool that shows you how the display stacks up against other standard mobile phone screens. If you feel like logging into your Facebook account, you can even leave a message about how much you love the latest and greatest from T-Mobile.
Go. Now. Enter Microsoft’s HD2 contest and cross your fingers. With a little luck, you’ll be chosen as the winner of a shiny new HTC HD2 from T-Mobile. We only wish we could enter the contest ourselves.
If you don’t win, you could always trade in your ratty old smartphone and get up to $350 towards an HD2!
