Late last year, I reviewed a product from PhoneSuit called the MiLi Power Pack. As great of a product as it is, I wish it was a little bit more… portable. Don’t get me wrong, the MiLi Power Pack doesn’t take much space in my bag when I travel. But what about when I’m just hanging out with my friends and my phone is near death? That’s where PhoneSuit’s new micro battery pack called ‘Primo‘ comes in.
As you can see from the picture above, the Primo is a perfect addition to my house keys. The top portion that covers the iPhone connector comes with a string that you can attach to your keys. Then when you need the Primo, you can simply detach it from its top portion and begin the charging process. Since the Primo is so small, it doesn’t hinder the use of my iPhone when it’s plugged in. It simply attaches to the bottom of your iPhone.
With the size of the Primo, you would think it would take a hit in its battery capacity. It doesn’t hold as much juice as the MiLi, but with an 800mAh capacity battery, you can get approximately 45 additional hours of music time or up to 3 hours of 3G talk time. I found this to be more than adequate is more than enough for me if I’m not traveling cross country. The Primo can easily be recharged via an included USB / mini-USB cable (but let’s be honest, who doesn’t have one of these cables somewhere in their office already?) Color LEDs are used to indicate how much battery is left in the Primo both when it’s connected to your iPhone as well as when it’s charging.
Primo does what it’s intended to do. Provide you with juice in a small, easy to carry form factor. As long as you carry your house keys around, you’ll always have power with you wherever you go, and that’s exactly what I needed.
The Primo is currently available on PhoneSuit’s website for $34.95.
