So how do you overcome an obviously missing product feature? With an awkward third-party stopgap, of course! Camera-A and Camera-B are apps for the iPhone 3GS and iPad respectively that allow you to see your camera’s view on your iPad via Bluetooth, and take pictures. It doesn’t do anything nifty like video, but definitely paves the way for that brand of application. The creator sees these two apps as being useful for remote photography, so you can set up your phone somewhere (in the woods for a nature shot, behind the goal for sports, or in your living room for security) and hit the shutter remotely.
Although Camera-A and Camera-B only work with the iPhone 3GS right now, a version for the iPhone 3G is going through the review process. Camera-A (for iPhone) will cost you a mere $0.99, but the iPad-bound Camera-B is free. Neat stuff! More info at the developer’s website.
