Vertu Ascent X in works?

Nokia seems to be working on a new member of its luxury Vertu Ascent family of devices. The phone which will apparently be called Ascent X has been spotted while getting a so much needed (in order to be sold in the U.S.) FCC approval. From the document on the Commission’s website, we find out it will rock a 2-inch QVGA display, HSPA connectivity, A-GPS, 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash (first in a Vertu handset), 32GB of internal memory, Bluetooth and an email client. The price and the exact release date are unknown at this stage, but we’re hoping to get some additional details in the near future.

It’s worth noting that this is by far the single most powerful Vertu phone we’ve seen to date. It looks like users of the luxury handsets want both the beauty and the brains nowadays. That being said, I doubt it will run Symbian S60, but will definitely be able to run Opera Mini, which involves more than decent web browsing experience — to be fair, every Vertu handset could do that…
