U.S. Cellular lands Windows Mobile-powered Samsung Exec

There’s some good news and bad news if you’re on U.S. Cellular: you can buy the handset with the best name I’ve heard in a while but it’s going to be decidedly mediocre.

The Samsung Exec is powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 and it rocks a full QWERTY keyboard. As the name suggests, this is a phone for you if you’re like a boss: there’s deep Outlook and corporate integration, along with mobile versions of Word and PowerPoint. It’s not all business though, as there’s social-networking features so you can Twitter your FaceSpace to your heart’s content.

I wouldn’t take this over the new BlackBerry Bold but it could be a solid messaging device if you’re on U.S. Cellular. On the positive side, it will only be $99 on a two-year contract or $299 going month-to-month, and it’s available today.

Other features include:

Microsoft Office Outlook® ActiveSync
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Microsoft Windows Live™Messenger
Microsoft Windows Media® Player
Microsoft Windows Marketplace
Adobe Reader LE 2.5
Stereo Bluetooth Connectivity
2.0 Megapixel Camera/Camcorder
Text, Picture and Video Messaging
Personal Tools: Calendar, Alarms, Anniversary Reminder, Tasks
Optional External Memory Up to 32GB
Up To Talk Time: 8 hours
Dimensions: 4.61” X 2.36” X .45” inches
