Zeemote makes this really cool Wii nunchuk-like gaming peripheral for mobile, that until now only worked with BlackBerry, Symbian and lower-end J2ME phones. Well, they’ve moved on to a platform slightly more capable of handling gaming apps: Android.
There were worries that Zeemote would be going out of business until they got acquired, and honestly, I can’t say I’m that surprised. Although at the time, there were certainly technical roadblocks, the iPhone seems like a much more natural fit for a product interested in mobile gaming. Android’s a nice step, regardless, and will hopefully do good things for the innovative, yet niche-y Zeemote.
Developers interested in providing support for the Zeemote can hit up their developer page, although the SDK proper will only be available “in the next few weeks”.
