If you’ve been curious about Apple’s just-launched iPad WiFi + 3G model, Apple has some minor but interesting information for you. Following on AT&T posting 3G iPad details yesterday, Apple has today posted a step-by-step guide for activating your cellular data-enabled Apple tablet with AT&T’s 3G data service.
The most interesting part of Apple’s new iPad support docs are the screenshots that show you what to expect when buying AT&T 3G data service on the iPad. The screenshots take you through the process of entering contact and billing information, creating an account login and selecting your desired AT&T data plan ($15 or $30 per month), and submitting the information to activate your iPad’s data connection. Once completed, you’ll be presented with a notification on your iPad, letting you know that you have successfully activated the tablet to work with AT&T’s network.
The best part about all this is that you can do all this from the convenience of the iPad itself. No need to log into your desktop computer. In conjunction with the no-contract data plans available for the iPad WiFi + 3D, Apple and AT&T really couldn’t have made it easier for you to fork over your hard-earned dollars for data connectivity for your iPad.
