If you’re a fan of Konami’s Castlevania games and have been hoping it’ll make it’s way to the iPhone, then I have good news and bad news. Good news is that Konami has announced that they will, in fact, be releasing a Castlevania game on the iPhone. Bad news is it isn’t the Castlevania we all know and love. Instead, as the title suggests, Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night will be a Puzzle-RPG.
In Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night, players will assume the role of Alucard, son of Dracula, as he battles characters from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night not with physical attacks or magic spells, but instead, with some hardcore Puzzle-RPG action. If you’re ready to have your mind blown, Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night will even allow you to play AS characters from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I know, that ranks high on my crazy meter.
Judging by the screenshots, it looks like the game will play very similar to how Capcom’s Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo does where you’re given two gems and you’re supposed to match them up with gems already on the playing field, and that game was very good. Which reminds me, if this game indeed plays similar to that game, then what’s stopping Capcom from releasing it on the iDevices? In other words, Capcom, you need to release Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo on the iDevices.
No official pricing has been given for Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night, and as for its release date, all we know is that it’ll be available soon.
