Looks like another device may be on its way to TELUS’ MiKe network. A config file on the TELUS site is clearly showing off the Motorola i890… which can only mean it’s coming soon. Launch date, pricing and availability is still clearly up in the air, but we should know all the details soon.
Key specs on the Motorola i890:
- iDEN 800/900MHz
- clamshell/flip form factor
- proprietary OS
- 2 megapixel camera with 4x zoom
- Bluetooth
- aGPS
- 180MB internal memory, expandable to 8GB via microSD
- Push-to-Talk (PTT)

Side note: You may remember the TELUS Motorola BRUTE i680 that we took a look at some time ago. A ruggedized clamshell built-to-last, I was personally impressed by the overall durability of the device… Should be interesting to see how similar the i680 and i890 are.
