Well, here we are. International iPad Day. When I woke up this morning and popped open my Twitter feed, I was greeted with picture after picture of lineups from various Apple stores around the world. Somewhere, Steve Jobs is smiling.
Fortunately for me, I already have my hands on an iPad, but for the majority of folks in Canada (and elsewhere around the world), today is the day many have been waiting for. I hope the lineups are bearable, and at the very least… fun.
This note is for Canadians… We just received a note from one of our lovely Rogers contacts letting us know the sweet low down on their iPad pricing, and much more. You can check out all of the details over at Rogers’ RedBoard, but below are the key points that you’ll want to take in:
Rogers’ iPad Data Plans
250MB – $15/month
5GB – $35/month
Both of these plans are available without a term contract and include free unlimited access to all Rogers WiFi hot spots. Groovy.
Activating your iPad on the Rogers’ network:
- Make sure your Micro SIM card is inserted into the device, plug the iPad into an Internet-connected computer and update to the latest version of iTunes.
- On the iPad, click the Settings icon.
- On the Cellular Data tab, touch View Account.
- Enter your user and login information (screen shot above), then select your plan. A check mark will appear beside your selection.
- Enter your payment and billing information. You can subscribe to the plans by pre-paying via Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
- An email and alert will then be sent to you confirming the transaction and your data plan will take effect in a few minutes.
- After reading and agreeing to all Terms of Service, review the payment summary screen and click Submit to complete.
So there you have it. If you don’t like the cut of Rogers’ jib, or if you’re just more of a Bell fan when it comes to your choice of carrier… Bell has pretty much the exact same setup for your iPad carrying… tushy. Check out what Bell has to offer right here.
So there you have it Canadians. Drink it in. Happy International iPad Day everyone.
