SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 released for Symbian touch devices

SPB Software is launching its user interface application for the Symbian smartphones. SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 is made to work with touch-enabled Symbian S60 device (S60 5th Edition and above), bringing the same experience some Windows Mobile users learned to love.

According to recent Gartner statistics, Symbian smartphones are the fastest-selling mobiles in the world, and obviously SPB Software wants to enter such a promising market.

Among the SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 feature included, we highlight:

  • Multiple customizable homescreens
  • Widgets for tasks, agenda, weather and others
  • Widget-based photo contacts
  • Launcher with fast access to all the features
  • Adaptive skins, support for OpenGL and 3D carousel

Price wise, SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 could be yours for $29.95, and a free 15-day trial version is also available. However, SPB’s idea is to find a handset manufacturer partner that would pre-load the application on its phones.

Let’s face it, Symbian’s existing UI sucks, leaving tons of room for improvements, and that’s the fact SPB Software wants to exploit…
