MGM MIRAGE is definitely serious about getting all those iPhone users to its hotels and resorts. The company is out with no less than 5 iPhone apps. Let’s briefly go through all of them:

Resort apps: Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, New York-New York

Each of the apps deals with a separate resort and it allows users to access photos, videos and information to help them decide what to do during their Vegas adventure, and “book it all with one-touch functionality.” You can bookmark activities, check out indoor casino maps, order room service, review rules for casino games, check local weather, preview and order rooms, check out the clubs, bars and nightlife. Of course, you can also share interesting tidbits with your friends via email.

Entertainment of Las Vegas

Using this app you can explore shows, nightclubs and attractions at Bellagio, ARIA Resort & Casino, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, New York-New York, Excalibur, Circus Circus, Luxor and The Mirage. There are also custom GPS maps of The Strip and get exact directions to where you want to go. Any page can be bookmarked and you can also comment about your trip or rate any of the featured services.

Vegas Reality

The augmented reality application that works with the iPhone 3GS, only. To get information about any resort and/or casino, all you have to do is point your beloved handset to it and then watch as information automatically appears as floating text on your screen. You can also “virtually jump” inside your favorite resort to learn about its shows, nightclubs, restaurants and more; buy tickets; explore CityCenter’s public Fine Art Collection; and access property’s real-time Twitter feed for deals and events.

All in all, we applaud MGM for pulling this out. Hopefully, they won’t forget other platforms and soon enough we’ll talk about their apps for Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and so on.
