It’s official. The AT&T Palm Pixi Plus is now available for $49.99 on contract. If signing a 2-year deal ain’t your thing (just be glad you’re not in Canada, it’d be a 3-year contract 🙂 ), you can pick one up as is, off-contract for $299. Not bad really, when you consider the Pixi Plus’ big brother, the Palm Pre Plus is available on AT&T for $149.99 on-contract and $399.99 off of one. If money is an issue, and you absolutely HAVE to get your hands on some webOS love, the Pixi Plus may be the way for you to go.
The AT&T Palm Pixi Plus features:
- Palm webOS
- Full QWERTY keyboard
- 320×480 HVGA display (2.63″)
- WiFi
- 2 megapixel camera with video
- 8 GB of internal memory
- GSM/GPRS, 3G and EDGE
- Bluetooth
- Battery – 1150 mAH capacity, up to 5 hours talk time and 350 hours of standby time
- Ambient light detector, accelerometer and proximity detector
That said, I doubt AT&T will be raking-in the new subscribers with the Pixi Plus, especially when you consider all of the buzz and hoopla surrounding the iPhone 4G / HD due to hit us at the WWDC keynote a little later today. So, I guess the stupid question of the day from me would have to be this: If you had the choice of picking up the Palm Pixi plus, or the next-gen iPhone on AT&T… which one would you pick? Would up-front pricing and contract options be the biggest factor in your decision?
For all the details get your butt on over to AT&T. They’ll even ship it to you for free if you order online. Nice touch.
Note: Interestingly enough (I almost missed this), AT&T has the Palm Pixi Plus available in two colors. Black and Blue. There’s a joke in there somewhere, but I’m not going to touch it.
