Zangief Headed to Street Fighter IV for iPhone Soon As Free DLC

It looks like Capcom is continuing the gravy train of support for Street Fighter IV for the iPhone as Zangief will soon be piledriving his way onto Apple’s device.   As with the previously announced news regarding Cammy as a playable character, Zangief will be made available as a free DLC.

I have to say that Capcom has not only impressed me with how good Street Fighter IV for the iPhone is, but they’re also impressing me with their continued support of the game even after launch. Offering new characters as an in-app purchase for, let’s say, $.99, wouldn’t be completely absurd when you consider the work that goes into making the character available.  So offering new players for the low price of free is something I want to acknowledge and hopefully encourage other big name developers to try once in a while instead of assuming extra work for their games means extra money out of our wallets.
