The wonderful mind behind the Spirit Jailbreak has been working hard to get Flash on the iPhone, and have some preliminary results to show. As you can see, Homestar Runner and All Your Base run relatively well, although the prior wasn’t exactly perfect. This video adds up against Apple’s claims that Adobe’s interactive multimedia standard isn’t on the iPhone for technical reasons, although it’s unlikely that right now this project meets the standards of battery life and efficiency that Apple would want for a full rollout.
If you haven’t been following, Apple has nixed the possibility of Flash ever coming to iPhone or other iOS products in favour of using HTML5-based solutions instead. Nokia and Opera took Adobe’s side, and Google has been doing its damnedest to get Flash on Android as quickly as possible. Hopefully, we can expect the Flash solution shown here to be available to the public soon. In the meantime, you could just, y’know, get an Android phone.
