Last night, it was rumored that there would be an Apple Store app for the iPhone as the latest handset gets closer to launch. How quickly things turn around. Just this morning, a new app for the iPhone came about and – guess what? – it’s for the Apple Store. That’s right. If you’re getting tired of using Safari on your iPhone to shop for goodies and read customer reviews on said goodies, the new app will help you out with that. I say it’s about time there is an application like this. It really should have been available since day one when the iTunes app store first opened up.
Other perks include setting up appointments for the Genius Bar, Personal Shopper and One-to-One so that you’re all set up once you make your way to the Apple Store. It also lets you search for the nearest retail locations near you. Another nice perk is that you can browse the different workshops and events that take place in store and sign up for those, too. Best of all, and obviously expected, the app is free from iTunes.
If you already hit up the preorder route (assuming you managed to have any luck) for your new iPhone 4, and you’re looking to take advantage of your time at the Apple Store while you’re buying your new phone, let this new app help you get stuff done while you’re in line. It’s probably better than talking to the dude next to you with his full Macbook/iPhone/iPad setup talking about what a wonderful company Apple is and how much Steve Jobs rules, right? But if you haven’t pre-ordered the new handset yet, why not take advantage of the new app to do so?
Also, if you’re going to download this app onto your soon-to-be-ancient iPhone 3G or 3GS, perhaps consider going to the Apple site to pre-order your device. Be sure to check out our guide, heed our pre-order warnings and stay hydrated if you’re going to be in line out in the sun for a good chunk of the day.
The app should give you a more convenient and quick method to preorder your iPhone 4 today. The preorder website is a massive mess and the lines at some Apple and AT&T stores are getting out of hand. Why not just put in your preorder using the app?
