Looks like the good folks at SHAPE Services have been working hard on IM+ for BlackBerry yet again. They’ve just released an update for the all-in-one messaging app for BlackBerry. The update brings us up to version 8.5, and besides the usual box full of slight modifications and bug fixes, the developers have added a history review feature, and improved multichat support for MSN and Skype. It’s all good.
If you’ve never heard of or used IM+ for BlackBerry before… what it does is real simple. It connects you to all of your instant messaging accounts, in one place, right from your BlackBerry! Connect to Twitter, Facebook, Skype, GTalk, Yahoo!, MSN Live/Messenger, MySpace, Jabber, iChat, ICQ and more. There’s no messaging costs, and there’s even a ‘lite’ version available.
Key features found within the app include:
- 24/7 connectivity to your IM accounts
- group chat
- speech recognition
- powerful translator (9 supported languages: English, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish)
If you already have a copy, you should be able to upgrade for free. If you don’t have a copy, you’ll want to head over to SHAPE Services for all the details. I’ve included a download link below.
