If you’ve been waiting on Verizon to restock their HTC Droid Incredible inventory, you might have to wait a long time to get the slim and svelte Android superphone in your pocket – we’re expecting inventories to be restocked in the first half of August. But, if you’re willing to pick up the Incredible from Amazon.com, you have a chance to get one before month’s end. While not exactly the same as having it in stock, Amazon is claiming that they will be likely be shipping the HTC Droid Incredible within two to three weeks.
According to the Amazon.com website, availability for Verizon’s most compelling Android phone (well, at least until the Motorola Droid X launches this week) is listed as “Usually ships within 2 – 3 weeks.” That’s not exactly the most confidence-inspiring launch window, but it’s better than nothing. The listed availability date might mean that the handset will arrive at your doorstep before Verizon has a chance to re-up on supplies of the Incredible.
Unlike the big-screen Android monsters coming from HTC and Motorola these days, the Incredible takes a more pocketable approach to high-end Android superphones. It features a smaller 3.7-inch AMOLED display that’s brighter and offers a crisper picture than standard LCD displays. It’s powered by a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, has 3G data connectivity, and sports WiFi, GPS, microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Incredible runs Android 2.1 OS with HTC’s custom Sense UI atop.
