Some quick mobile CFL news comin’ atcha my Canadian friends! It wasn’t that long ago that I heard TELUS became the official wireless provider of the Canadian Football League. Besides the advertising and promos we’ll no doubt see at stadiums (and on TV) from coast to coast, new apps were rumored to be coming down the pipe… and it looks like the first one has arrived.
The TELUS CFL Mobile app is now available for BlackBerry. Created by the good folks at Polar Mobile (and compatible with all current gen devices), this freebie is a must-have for any diehard Canadian football fan. Pop it open to check scores, schedules, read the latest news, and much more. Better yet, the app isn’t locked to one carrier, so, pop open App World to get your copy.
While the app isn’t a TELUS exclusive, I should mention that certain features are available to TELUS subscribers only. These features include:
- Live streaming of all CFL games (including playoffs and 98th Grey Cup)
- On-demand video including extended game recaps, game previews and interviews
- Enhanced live stats updates during CFL games
iPhone and Android users, don’t fret. I’m told that the app will be available on your handset of choice in the near future. I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for that for you.
