HTC Bee: an entry level Android 2.2 handset for Verizon?

Hardware specifications for the Bee, another mystery HTC handset, have emerged today. The Bee is a CDMA handset that could potentially launch on one of many CDMA carriers including Verizon, US Cellular, Alltel or Cellular South. The Android 2.2 phone is an entry-level offering that includes a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7625 processor, a 3.2-inch display with 240×320 resolution, 384MB RAM, 512MB ROM, and a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash. This Android offering is part of a larger leak that includes the HTC Spark and the HTC Lexicon and is possibly pulled from leaked ROM information.

You’re guess is as good as mine when it comes the the identity of this handset. This is the first time the codename Bee  has appeared in the headlines and the recently leaked roadmap for Verizon did not mention an entry-level offering. If we had to guess, this sounds like a replacement for the aging DROID Eris. The Eris is no longer being sold by Verizon and has received its farewell Android update. Anyone care to speculate on the identity of the HTC Bee?
