Smithsonian Channel is joining other media companies with its own iPhone/iPod Touch app. The free to download application comes with select full-length episodes and hundreds of video clips of Smithsonian Channel’s award-winning programming. Additionally, there are artiFacts, offering little known nuggets about history, science and music; along with program information and the Channel’s programming schedule.
Those unfamiliar, myself included, should know that Smithsonian Networks is a joint-venture between Showtime Networks and the Smithsonian Institution, formed to create channels featuring programs inspired by the assets of the Smithsonian Institution.
Smithsonian Channel features original documentaries, series and programs highlighting America’s historical, cultural and scientific heritage. And now you can access most of their content from the palm of your hand, while on the go. AppStore link is below…
Alternatively, you may prefer to enjoy the same content from the comfort of your home sofa — if that’s the case, you can catch the Smithsonian Channel on DirecTV, Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Charter Communications, Cablevision, Verizon, AT&T and others.
