After a release in Canada and the U.S., the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 is finding its way elsewhere in the world, namely the UK and Australia. Vodafone will be offering the 9300, in all of its low-end glory: QVGA display, 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, 256 MB of RAM, and a 2 megapixel camera. What sets it apart from the 8530 (besides being GSM and not CDMA), is OS 6 compatibility, though it’s only launching with the same ol’ OS 5.
Vodafone’s BlackBerry Torch 9800 might seem like a more appealing device, but the larger, higher-resolution screen and considerably nicer camera are more of a luxury than anything; functionally, the Curve 3G should suit most of your needs, and with BlackBerry 6 in the pipes, you’ll get all the cool new stuff, like universal search.
Brits can head over to Vodafone UK to pick up their BlackBerry Curve 9300, while Aussies will be able to grab theirs over here at the beginning of September. 3 and Optus will also be offering the Curve 3G in Australia.
