Bell has just launched their landing page for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 (which is also coming to Rogers and Telus, let’s not forget). We still don’t have an official date for the BlackBerry Torch launch in Canada (mid-September seems likely), but at least now you can sign up for e-mail alerts when there’s any info. It probably won’t take long for the other carriers to launch similar sites.
AT&T launched their BlackBerry Torch not long ago, which enjoyed a half-hearted reception. Most of the guts aren’t anything you couldn’t find a phone two years ago: HVGA capacitive touchscreen, 512 MB of memory, 624 MHz processor, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, and 3G. The new operating system is a nice coat of paint, with the only significant functional addition being universal search.
Head on over to Bell if you want to sign up for e-mail notices, or check out our BlackBerry Torch 9800 review for some video and impressions.
