Sony Ericsson announced the Xperia X8 in June and confirmed a Q3 2010 launch. In keeping with this launch window, the X8 has emerged from the FCC with user manual and detailed photos intact. No new details were uncovered in these now public FCC documents, but we do get an up close and personal look at the inside and outside of this Sony Ericsson Android-powered phone.
The Xperia X8 is a mid-range offering that fits in between the X10 and the X10 Mini and includes quad-band GSM HSPA, 3-inch 320 x 480 touchscreen display, 600 MHz processor, 128 MB RAM, 3.2 megapixel camera (no flash), A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, and Android 1.6. Though AT&T has not been confirmed as a launch partner, the carrier has recently added two Sony Ericsson handsets, the X10 and the Vivaz, to its lineup and is a strong contender to carry this phone as well. If the X8 does land at Ma Bell, look for the handset to hit the shelves in time for the holiday shopping season.
