BabyCenter, which touts itself to be “moms’ most trusted parenting and pregnancy site,” launched the BabyCenter My Pregnancy Today application for iPhone and iPod touch. The free to download app is designed to guide expectant moms through their pregnancy journey, offering medically reviewed health content and tools. Here’s what’s included:
- Keep track of the pregnancy, day by day with daily snapshot of baby’s development.
- Fetal development images – detailed weekly illustrations developed by expert medical illustrators.
- Pregnancy checklist – an interactive to-do list, filled with activities and reminders to keep moms on track with decisions, appointments, and more.
- Videos – including 3D animations of a baby developing in the womb and live-action videos of women giving birth (from natural to c-section).
- Birth clubs – advice and support from BabyCenter women due at the same time.
- Due date calculator – find your due date and count down to the big day.
- Nutrition guide – advice on how to manage weight gain.
In addition to this latest app, BabyCenter has developed other mobile applications and services for modern moms and moms-to-be, including Booty Caller (SMS service that alerts women when they’re most likely to be fertile) and PhonyPhone (turns a mobile phone into a pretend phone so kids can dial away without making a real call).
And to celebrate the new application launch, BabyCenter is hosting a BabyCenter My Pregnancy Today Sweepstakes from August 24 through September 22 on its website, allowing visitors to win a $2,500 Apple Gift Card.
