Verizon Palm Pixi Plus owners take heed as webOS 1.4.5 is slated to hit your handset in the next few days. Reports are flowing out of the forums that confirm the update has received the rubber stamp of approval from Verizon and it is gradually appearing on handsets around the country. Palm also released the update details on its support website and made a formal announcement on its blog.
As expected, the webOS 1.4.5 update includes some bug fixes and adds PDK support for the Pixi Plus handset. Gaming is the biggest bonus to this highly anticipated update and Palm has posted a list of the hottest games for the Pixi Plus. The titles available in the App Catalog include Crusade of Destiny, ExZeus, Galcon, Assassin’s Creed – Altaïr’s Chronicles, and Need for Speed Undercover. Use this list a guide to get you acquainted with maging on the webOS platform.
While the Pixi Plus owners are enjoying some leisurely gaming, Verizon Pre Plus owners and their AT&T counterparts are still waiting on webOS 1.4.5. Unlike Motorola which has released an update schedule for its Android handsets, Palm has been silent on the matter. The rumor mill has been the only source of information and the prevailing rumor pegged the Pixi Plus as the next recipient of this coveted update. This rumor obviously panned out but, unfortunately, that same rumor mill had no word on when the update will hit the Verizon or AT&T Pre Plus or the AT&T Pixi Plus. As of today, we are still left in the dark, waiting patiently for webOS 1.4.5 to hit all supported Palm handsets.
So Palm Pixi Plus owners, enjoy your moment in the sun and share your first impressions of webOS 1.4.5 with us in the comments.
