If you’re in Canada and itching at the hip to get your hands on a BlackBerry Torch 9800… The wait is well and truly on. At least this time we have a HARD launch date for ALL of the major Canadian carriers. The last we heard, Bell, Rogers and TELUS are all going live with the BlackBerry Torch 9800 on September 24th. That’s a Friday. Going to be a big one.
Pricing is expected to come in at $199 on contract at these carriers, so if a few ‘hundo’ is not much for you to get your hands on this new BlackBerry6-packing device, then good on ya.
Getting to the point of my post here, if you simply can’t wait until the 24th and need to do something to at least tide you over ’til the launch date… it looks like you can head on over to Best Buy Canada. They’ve come out with pre-orders on the device, and yes, it’s on your carrier of choice. Bell, Rogers, TELUS, even Virgin Mobile… it doesn’t matter. Simply pop-in to Best Buy, place your pre-order and you can calm down for a few weeks knowing your device is on its way. All that is required is a $50 deposit.
For all the details, head on over to your nearest Best Buy location and grab a staffer in blue. They’ll know what to do.
Note: If you need a refresher, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 features BlackBerry 6 (OS) , a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, a 3.2″ 480 x 360 capacitive touchscreen, full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, GPS, world-roaming HSPA 3G and much more. It’s a nifty little device. The build quality is there, and I honestly dig it. A lot of negatives have been floating around about the Torch… but after having spent some quality time with the thing. My overall impressions are nothing but positive.
