TomTom has updated its iPhone app, making it even better. Without further ado, here’s what the version 1.5 brings to the table:
- Navigate-to-photo – Simply select an image from the gallery and TomTom will know where to guide you using geo-tags associated with the photo.
- iPhone 4 support – Retina display is now supported, bringing high resolution graphics, sharper maps, more-responsive menus and improved positioning even in areas with limited GPS reception.
- Latest maps – The latest version of TomTom includes 1 million more miles of roads in the U.S. than competitive maps.
The rest of the features remain unchanged and include multi-tasking support (included with the iOS 4), advanced lane guidance (i.e. which lane you should take for an upcoming exit), IQ Routes that take into account current traffic conditions, street name announcements, and so on.
This update is for North American TomTom versions only, but I guess applications for other parts of the world will get the same (or at least similar) treatment in the near future, too.
