After hanging out in the online store for a few days as “coming soon”, the LG Shine Plus is available on Telus for $69.99 on a three-year contract. It’s not that much different than the LG Ally available to those of you down in the U.S., except that it has a 5 megapixel camera.
Aside from a few custom widgets and shortcuts, the LG Shine Plus runs a pretty familiar Android 2.1, and has a 3.2″ WVGA capacitive touchscreen, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 3G, and GPS. I spent some time with the Shine Plus, and the feel of the phone is really exceptional – the metal keys and a polished back are really classy. The key design was really ergonomic, and I could see myself getting used to it. I’m still not sure that I would pick it over the HTC Desire, also on Telus, but if a physical keyboard is a dealbreaker for you, it’s hard to go wrong.
Take a look at our LG Ally review to get a feel for the Shine Plus, or head on over to Telus to pick one up.
