Yesterday, Nokia fans were in an uproar when news came that the N8 would be delayed. Those waiting for the Symbian^3 handset were feeling pretty distraught and dejected, but Nokia has just a bit of relatively good news this morning. According to the Finnish company, some N8 smartphones will be shipping on time.
According to Nokia, the company has “received a record number of online pre-orders for the Nokia N8.” Take that as you will, since it’s a bit vague, but the smartphone maker stands by its promises. Online pre-order customers will still be receiving their N8 smartphones at the end of September, and at the very latest October 8.
Nokia further states:
As we have previously said, we still expect to start the shipments by the end of the third quarter. As with every global launch, when the device reaches the hand of the customer will vary by market and operator.
Be patient and soon your 12-megapixel shooter will be in your hands.
