Although most of us are still kinda sceptical about the prospects of Samsung’s Bada platform that doesn’t stop the Korean company from pursuing carrier partners which could sell one of few Bada-powered devices that were announced to date.
That said, Samsung has found an operator in China willing to (take risk?) sell the recently announced Wave 723 smartphone. China Unicom will offer the device in the world’s most populous country and I guess pre-load it with some China-specific content.
We’re not aware there are major changes in the Wave 723’s hardware — in other words, Chinese should expect the same 3.2-inch display, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, media player, web browser, Samsung Apps support, latest version of the TouchWIZ UI (3.0), microSD memory card slot and so on. Pricing was not unveiled, though.
We’ll definitely keep watching where Bada goes from here and as soon as we hear something interesting – we’ll let you know. Stay tuned in the meantime.
