We did wrote about Amazon’s “plans” (it’s still a rumor, though) to launch its own tablet device. When you think about it that makes perfect sense for the online retailer as these days people want multi-function devices rather than dedicated ebook readers. That said, in some sense Kindle is already more than a reading device with few games being offered for download, including Every Word and Shuffled Row, both of which are available for free.
Now we have the first paid game – Scrabble, which comes from EA Mobile. It’s a black and white game, where you play against the CPU, in a head-to-head Pass N Play or in the “solo” mode. There’s a “Best Word” help feature that shows you the highest scoring word available, plus stats that track your performance…
Back to the Amazon Tablet idea. Since this game comes from EA Mobile, I’m wondering whether Amazon is negotiating with developers as we speak? It’s really hard to tell, but if I were Jeff Bezos, that would definitely be an area of interest to me. Then again, I’m not Jeff and what do I know. 😉
Anyway, if you’re willing to play Scrabble on your Kindle, prepare to pour out $4.99 and you’re ready to go. That, of course, presumes you live in the U.S. cause otherwise there’s no Scrabble for you…
