Appcelerator is teaming-up with location analysis software provider FortiusOne to launch the first location-based analytics platform for mobile applications. The new Titanium+Geo platform will allow enterprises, marketers and retailers to “better understand where, when and how mobile applications are being used.” In other words, companies will be able to measure the impact of location-enabled mobile applications and social media on the bottom line.
The solution relies on FortiusOne’s GeoIQ platform while extending it with capabilities to capture, analyze and visualize real-time data from mobile devices and social media services. It [Titanium+Geo] combines such internal data as coupons, customer databases and location information with external data like Twitter, demographic and competitive information to create actionable data (i.e. running a promotion, selling advertising, or opening a new location).
In terms of platforms supported, Titanium+Geo will sing along the iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices. That’s at some point in the fourth quarter of the year when Appcelerator will launch the solution to 72,000+ developers worldwide as part of its Professional and Enterprise subscriptions, and on a trial basis to Community developers.
