We’ve seen plenty of hands-on pictures of the upcoming BlackBerry 9780, and hints of it landing on Vodafone UK in white, and today there’s a sign of the 9780 on Virgin Mobile (and by association, Bell). The rumoured launch date is October 21, going for $149 with a SuperTab, or go no contract for $549. Elsewhere in Canada, we’re expecting Telus to launch the 9780 on October 21 too, and Rogers shortly thereafter in mid-November.
The BlackBerry 9780 promises to be a moderate refresh (as indicated by the name in the screenshot above), offering a 5 megapixel camera and 512 MB of RAM over the original Bold. Presumably by the time the 9780 launches, OS 6 will also be available on its predecessor, which also has a HVGA display, 624 MHz processor, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS, an optical trackpad, and full QWERTY keyboard. In the U.S., AT&T is also likely to pick this one up.
