If you’re part of the iPhone developer’s program, Apple’s got a nice little surprise for you today – the iOS 4.2 Gold Master released has just gone live and is now available for download. The release of iOS 4.2 GM means that the mobile OS update is no longer considered a “beta” release and signals the near-term launch of the 4.2 update to the general public. For now, though, 4.2 GM is only available to those iPhone users that Apple considers “developers.” You’ll know if you qualify, as you’ll have sent Apple a C-note to enroll in the iPhone developer program.
Now, we wait and count the days until Apple launches the official release to their smartphone fleet around the world. We’ll keep you posted!
