When the iPhone was first released, messaging fanatics bemoaned the touchscreen interface. Now that most folks have grown accustomed to touchscreen smartphones, and the somewhat-accurate auto-correct system on these devices, gaming has taken over. Hardcore gamers are used to the tactile feel of a joystick and buttons – obviously lacking on the iPhone or iPod touch.
Problem solved with these stick-on buttons. The idea is to recreate the feel of a controller or game pad by slapping these bumpy stickers onto your iPhone or iPod touch. Just how well it works remains to be seen, but I’m a bit skeptical. You’re either going to play games on your Xbox 360 or PSP or your iPhone knowing what you’re getting into. But if a gimmick like this gives you some psychological edge, well, it’s $7.80 well spent, I guess.
