Man, first Videotron launches as the only carrier in Canada to subsidize the Nexus One, and then brings the XT720 Motoroi to North America, and now they’re the first to snag this entry-level Motorola Spice that landed in Brazil last month. In the same breath, Videotron also temporarily went live with the same LG dLite that Wind Mobile launched today, along with a the LG Wink. All three have been taken off of Videotron’s online store after appearing briefly, but I suspect they’ll show up again soon.
The Motorola XT300 Spice packs the Palm Pre’s portrait-sliding style, only it runs Android 2.1. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera, 3.2-inch QVGA touchscreen, 512 MHz processor, and the rear trackpad like the Backflip, Charm, and Citrus.
Sadly, Videotron will probably never leave Quebec, so even us in Ottawa who are just a smidgen across the border won’t have access to their interesting exclusives. Since they operate on the same AWS bands as Wind and Mobilicity, however, maybe the other carriers will be able to snag some of the same handsets for the rest of Canada.
