Wind Mobile up here in Canada just went public with some excellent promotional plans yesterday. Until December 24, you can sign up for the Holiday Miracle plan, which includes unlimited data, Canada-wide calling, US long-distance, global texting, caller ID, and voicemail for $40/month. If you’re looking for something more lightweight, you can scrap the long-distance, text messaging, and data and get $25/month. You can keep the plan for as long as you’re with Wind, and can be combined with the BlackBerry BOGO deal they have going on as well as the WINDtab.
My girlfriend actually upgraded to this promo last week when some of the details leaked out, and I’m actually kind of surprised that Wind isn’t making more noise about it. A promotional plan like this combined with a closing time window and no expiry once you’re signed on has the definite ability to pull customers away from Rogers, Bell, and Telus. Even if you’re not a fan of any of Wind’s handsets, you could always snag one from Mobilicity since it operates on the same AWS bands.
