Every once and awhile a new app comes along that leaves me scratching my head. Today, such an app has crossed my plate, and I can’t help but wonder what the developers were thinking when they put it together.
Called ‘TVBrush’, the new app is a free download for your Android-powered device that promises to ‘make brushing your teeth fun’. Oh really now? So how does it do that, you ask? Well, each and every time you go to brush your teeth, TVBrush will find a funny 2-minute video clip to watch while you brush. All you need to do is open the app, and you’ll be greeted with the title of a video clip. If you want to play it, hit the big ‘play video’ button. If the title doesn’t strike you as funny, hit the ‘skip’ button. There’s even a ‘share’ feature that allows you to share the funny video with your friends and family with a few taps. Pretty simple (and strange) for sure, but hey, if nothing else I could see this potentially getting the little ones to brush those teeth more often!
Odd? Yes. Effective, potentially. I have no idea of the quality of videos pulled up by this app, but hey… I’d watch a video while I brush my teeth. Heck, if the video was 2 minutes long and I told myself to not stop brushing until the video was over… My teeth might end up just a tad healthier as a result!
Whether you think this is stupid or practical, I don’t care. But if you DO care and would like to give it a try, you can find it in the Android Market right now for free. Simply punch in a search for TVBrush and you should be on your way to a whiter smile… with a few laughs along the way.

Note: An iOS version of TVBrush is coming down the pipe shortly. I’ll keep my eyes open for it!
