A few weeks ago there were murmurs that there would be an official WordPress app for Windows phone, and on Tuesday that app went live. With it, you can handle all of your usual blogging tasks, like moderate comments, write up posts or pages, and review stats. It’ll work with either a personally-hosted blog, or one on WordPress.com.
WordPress is a set of blog tools to allow just about anyone to regularly post to the internet about just about anything from anything with a web browser. Although it’s considered by many as the software of choice when it comes to blogs (it’s what we use here at IntoMobile), there are plenty of alternatives, like Moveable Type, Posterous, Joomla, Tumblr, LiveJournal and plenty of others. The deciding factor in which to use, however, may hinge on the availability of a mobile app.
WordPress for Windows phone joins clients for BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone (sorry still no webOS app aside from a compatible mobile site plugin). You bloggy-types can find it in the Windows phone Marketplace for free.
