Review: Berzerk Ball for iPhone – Hitting a Geek Never Felt So Good

I think we can all agree that we’re all nerds about one thing or another. As cool as we all seem to perceive ourselves to be, we all can’t help but to geek out when a new phone is revealed. On the other hand, I would absolutely love to smack around a geek for once and that’s where a game like Berzerk Ball comes in.

Berzerk Ball is pretty easy game to play and understand. You pick a character and then you hit geeks as far as you can by stopping a bouncing cursor to hit the geek at the ideal angle and power. As simple as that sounds, there’s way more under the hood as the game offers a lot for players to come back for some more geek smacking mayhem.

When you hit a geek, the game will measure the distance he travels to give your character experience points. When your character reaches a new level, you’ll be able to level up their strength, aim, and geek navigation. You’ll also be able to purchase new weapons that offer bonuses to your character’s stats. A number of obstacles are littered throughout the stage that can either help your geek along or they could also slow him down.

If you think all of this sounds pretty brutal, it is. But the geek completely deserves a beating as he’ll mouth off before and after he’s hit that’ll help fuel your want to hit him over and over again. What the geek says is actually submitted by players either by the game’s forums or through App Store reviews.

FINAL THOUGHT: For a $.99 game, Berzerk Ball offers a lot of replay value with its experience system. Hitting the geek is satisfying every time and is sure to keep you entertained for hours as your character can hit the geek farther every time their leveled up.
