The Economist Group announced the global launch of its quarterly lifestyle and culture magazine Intelligent Life on iPad. Available as a free download (compliments of Credit Suisse), the winter issue of the magazine includes a mini biography of Ralph Fiennes, a comparison of Appleism vs. Googleism and an essay asking why we are turning verbs into nouns. And there’s more:
- Photo essay – photographer Daniel Månsson captures the frozen moments of surfers on the coast of the Swedish island of Torö
- Style – in the Applied Fashion column, former Vogue writer Rebecca Willis discusses how to dress feet up, without falling down.
- Culture – The BBC’s hit “Sherlock” is just one of 230 films or television series featuring the great man. Matthew Sweet picks the best
- Gaming – Tom Standage on the joy of Angry Birds
- Places – Henry Tricks looks at Japan’s attitude to outsiders
The great thing is that once downloaded, Intelligent Life is stored on your iPad, meaning that all articles can be read without the need for an internet connection. In addition to text, the application also includes embedded audio and video…
