TripAdvisor launches free iPad version of its app

The holidays are here and TripAdvisor is making your travel a little easier with an iPad version of its iOS app. It’s been on the iPhone for quite some time now, and it’s finally landing on the bigger iOS device just in time for another round of serious traveling. After all, whether you’re taking a train, plane or car, you’re more likely to have your iPad out for entertainment than your smartphone. Unless you’re driving. Don’t do that. So it’s about time TripAdvisor got its app onto the Apple tablet.

With TripAdvisor for the iPad, you can find points of interest near you in map view, which is convenient, as well as hotels and restaurants nearby you. In addition to location-based search results, you can also search and compare prices for airline fees, too. The app also includes loads of photos of restaurants and hotels so you’ll know if you’re headed somewhere relatively nice or if it’s just a total dump. Additionally, TripAdvisor for the iPad will give you access to its forums. There’s nothing better than having your holiday travel helped out a bit with some user advice or seeing word-of-mouth recommendations from travelers who know.

Don’t forget that it’s also available on the iPhone and Android if you don’t have an iPad, but if you do own the Apple tablet, it’s free right now in the iTunes App Store.
