mTrip is going beyond iPhone and iPod Touch users for the Android kids. The popular travel content/service company launched a series of apps for the Android smartphone owners, each of which comes with handy features and functionalities like:

  • Points of interests like attractions, hotels, restaurants, shopping destinations and more with ratings, reviews and image galleries
  • mTrip Genius trip planner in which trip itineraries are automatically built based on your trip dates, accommodation, travel preferences (attractions, religious sights, parks and monuments), trip pace preference and traveler ratings.
  • Augmented reality – overlays travel info onto your phones display.
  • Offline Maps & Directions – which is very handy when roaming (mobile data in roaming can cost a fortune).
  • User-generated content – other members of the mTrip community can update the guide with their own ratings, reviews and pictures. Updates are made daily and are free to all users.
  • Sharing – you can share everything you read and see with your friends via email and Facebook.

mTrip Travel Guides are available for twenty cities, including New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, Madrid, Munich, Moscow, Rome, Venice, Vienna, Istanbul, Dublin, Shanghai, Tokyo and Singapore. In terms of languages supported, the list includes English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. Each guide costs $5.99 and is readily waiting in the Android Market. 😉
