Remote desktop access app Wyse PocketCloud for iOS gets free edition

Wyse Technology launched a free version of its popular cloud-based remote desktop access application/service PocketCloud for the iOS-powered devices. Moreover, the company also announced a new, simpler auto-discovery method for connecting to remote computers.

If you don’t know what PocketCloud is all about, here’s a snippet from the press release:

It allows PC and Mac users to access their desktops, files and applications on any physical or virtualized infrastructure with a choice of popular, well-supported protocols. PocketCloud is VMware Ready Certified for VMware View for the entire family of Apple iOS devices (iPhone, iPod touch and iPad), with seamless integration into a pre-existing VMware View environment with no special setup or software required.

In addition to basic remote desktop functionality, included in the free version are VNC and RDP 7 Support (with RDP encryption), keyboard auto-activation, custom keyboard with shortcuts and international characters (if needed), touch pointer and localization for English, French, German, Japanese and Chinese…
