ooVoo, the application/service that offers six-way video chat which is also available for Android users, has hit the new milestone. On Wednesday, December 22nd, ooVoo exceeded 100,000 new user registrations over a 24-hour period, which is nearly double the previous usage record for a single day.
That’s obviously a big win for the company, prompting the CEO, Philippe Schwartz, to comment: “We had a record day at ooVoo on December 22 and we’re pleased to welcome Skype users to join the best quality alternative in the video conferencing market. We’re excited about connecting more families face-to-face over the holidays with higher quality video chat.”
In the same press release, ooVoo “accidentally” mentioned Skype’s recent outage, calling out folks to try out some other alternatives available on the market. And for those folks, ooVoo prepared a special deal, offering free 6-way chat for the Holidays. The offer ends on January 2nd, so you better hurry — i.e. search for ooVoo in the Android Market and take it from there. 😉
