BlackBerry OS Leaks

Attention BlackBerry users, it’s time for a quick BlackBerry OS leak update. Over the last 48 hours or so a few more leaks have hit the scene, and if you’re on a BlackBerry Pearl 3G, Curve 3G, or Bold 9700, you may want to take note.

The leaked updates bring all three of the devices mentioned above up to 6.0.0.424. Neat. Remember, this is a leak, and doesn’t come complete with the official ‘blessing’ from any carrier… so please do keep in mind that download and installation is done at your own risk.

If you decide to install on your device, do be sure to backup and take all necessary precautions before you proceed. After installation (and after you’ve had some time to play with the new OS), be sure to let us know if you notice any marked changes or improvements.

Also, in a bit of ‘coming soon’ BlackBerry operating system action, Three UK has confirmed (via Twitter) that they’ll be updating the Bold 9700 to BlackBerry 6 at some point in January. In addition, when they start pushing the 9780 off their shelves in January, it’ll come preloaded with OS 6. Good to know!
